Budapest is the capital city of the Hungarian Republic. Nearly one-fifth of the country's total population lives there therefore Hungary is said to be strongly capital-centred. Budapest's river is the Danube which practically separates the city's two parts - the flat Pest from the hilly Buda. Eight bridges over the Danube provide the way across Hungary's largest river in the capital - from North to South Árpád-Bridge, Margaret-Bridge, Széchenyi Chain-Bridge, Elisabeth-Bridge, Freedom-Bridge, Petőfi-Bridge, Lágymányosi-Bridge and finally the Southern Bridge of Budapest's Motorway M0 Ring.
There are six districts on the Buda-side and sixteen districts on the Pest-side altogether, plus an island-district Csepel in the Southern part of the city.
Budapest is rightly called one of the nicest cities of the world - its architecture and natural beauties fascinate every visitor. Apart from its world-famous spas that await people from all over the world all year Budapest's countess places of entertainment, restaurants and hotels provide first class service for every tourist.
The capital's only international airport is Ferihegy with two big terminals (Ferihegy One and Ferihegy Two).
